Regular attendance at school is really important. The school rewards excellent school attendance with special certificates.
If however your child cannot come to school here is what you should do:
Absence due to Illness
Parents must notify the school before 09:30am each day if their child will not be attending school that day due to illness.
You can notify the school by phone (01932 843 990), following option 1 for the absence answering service or by email (email@example.com). If there is no answer when you call, please leave a message.
We request that children remain off school for at least 48hours after an episode of vomiting or diarrhoea. Please consider the health and wellbeing of the wider school community when you have an ill child. Infections and illnesses spread very quickly in the school environment.
You may find this information from the NHS useful when considering if your child is well enough to attend school.
For the safety of the children, the external gates will be closed promptly at 09.00am. Arrival at school after the gates close will be recorded as a late. Children must be brought to the school office where you must sign them in before a member of staff takes them to class.
All absences, other than illness, require authorisation from the headteacher and must be requested prior to the proposed absence, using the appropriate form.
The Request for Absence Form can be accessed using the link below or picked up from the school office. Please print and hand into the school office once you have filled in the relevant details. You will be notified of the outcome of your request via your child's letter bag.
Absences without prior authorisation will be recorded as unauthorised and may result in investigation by truancy officials. All absences are recorded on the child’s report. Please see the school's absence policy below.
